The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) is committed to protecting the health of staff and members of the public. To help limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), DMR is instituting the measures listed below. Please note that these measures were developed in consideration of the guidance issued by Governor Mills on or before March 19, 2020. DMR is closely monitoring the situation and will update these measures as necessary.

Effective March 19, 2020:

  • DMR is postponing all aquaculture hearings and scoping sessions scheduled from the effective date listed above through May 1. Applicants and other stakeholders affected by this measure will receive updates as the situation evolves.
  • DMR is postponing all aquaculture pre-application meetings scheduled from the effective date listed above through April 1. After that time, DMR will re-evaluate scheduling pre-application meetings. Applicants interested in scheduling a pre-application meeting should contact Angel Wilson at Angel.Wilson@maine.gov or 207-350-7902.
  • Applicants cannot schedule scoping sessions from the effective date listed above through May 1.

We appreciate the public's patience and understanding as we all work together to keep communities as healthy and safe as possible during this time.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Aquaculture Division at DMRaquaculture@maine.gov. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner, but in consideration of this evolving situation delays may be possible.
