Maine DMR Public Health

DMR Announces the Following:

Area No. 52-E, Dyer Bay, Dyer Harbor, and Pinkham Bay (Steuben). This notice changes the area at Parker Head (Steuben) from Restricted to Approved due to water quality meeting approved standards.  An interactive map that allows the user to zoom in to specific areas can be found on the ME DMR website: https://www.maine.gov/dmr/shellfish-sanitation-management/maps/index.html

Area No. 64-A; this notice precautionarily closes Area No. 64-A (Stockton Springs to Machiasport) to the taking of mussels, European oysters and surf/hen clams due to the risk of seasonal contamination by naturally occurring marine biotoxins.

Area No. 64-B; this notice precautionarily closes Area No. 64-B (Machiasport to Calais) to the taking of mussels, European oysters and surf/hen clams due to the risk of seasonal contamination by naturally occurring marine biotoxins.
