Identifying Invasive Forest Pest and Invasive Solutions in Penobscot County
The Penobscot County Soil & Water Conservation District and Maine Forest Service will present a forestry workshop -- "Identifying Invasive Forest Pest and Invasive Solutions" -- on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 9 AM to 2 PM, at the Caribou Bog Outdoor Center, located at 153 Taylor Road, Orono, Maine.
Presenters for this workshop will be Ronald Lemin, a vegetation management consultant, Hunter Manley, owner of Legacy Woodlot Services, and Kenneth Furguson, District Forester with the Maine Forest Service.
The workshop will feature presentations on invasives identification and control measures, as well as discussion of "closing the loop" alternatives. This workshop has been approved for 4 licensed forester CFE credits.
The workshop is FREE but registration is required. Lunch will be provided by Moe’s BBQ. Registration can be done online at Forestry Field Day - Penobscot County SWCD or email amy.polyot@penobscotswcd.org.
