New Maine Geologic Fact and Locality Available

The latest Maine Geologic Fact and Locality, Clark Island Preserve in St. George, takes us to the east side of the island to view some unique bedrock features in a picturesque coastal setting.  Guest contributor Myles Felch of the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum describes exposures of the Spruce Head Pluton, prominent dikes, dramatic pillow structures, and a once-productive granite quarry.
