Look to the Moon and View Bright Venus
The Moon with Venus below and to the right. Taken without a tripod so the image quality is poor but it shows how brightly Venus is shining in the night sky.
Last night I took this fuzzy photo to try and capture the moment of how large and bright Venus appeared. Rain is expected tonight but get out on the next clear night and enjoy the view! If conditions are right, you'll be able to see the red glow of Mars as well. You don't need any fancy equipment to enjoy the night sky. Just walk outdoors and look up. If you have a pair of binoculars, they are good for getting a better view of the planets but look at the brightest objects last to keep your night vision sharp, or you'll have to wait several minutes for your eyes to adapt again to the darkness. The May 2023 evening sky map by SkyMaps.com will help you find other night sky objects of interest.
