This annual event happens the fourth Sunday in July. The date this year is July 23, 2023 There is no fee to join promotions, but farms must sign up via the Real Maine website using a Real Maine member account.
Please see these instructions for farms that already have a Real Maine account and those looking to become members. Email us if you need help.
Did you recently signed up and have not seen changes? Please wait at least one business day before checking the current list of Open Farm Day participants
After you sign up: use the event resources to guide your planning. You are welcome to read about promotions and see the growing list of farms
- After login: Click "profile update" link
- Click edit my profile button
- A menu screen appears
- Select Farm and Business Features
- Scroll to EVENTS (use the image at the right for example)
- A blue box with a white check mark means you opt into the event
- Review the other menu areas (e.g., General Information, Online Listing Social Media). Refresh (add, remove, edit) information if needed.

**Red asterisks displaying on-screen denote missing or incomplete information, and will prevent you from saving and submitting until corrected.

- Avoid a duplication - Double check to see if you're already listed on RealMaine.com
- Use this form to join Real Maine and sign up for Open Farm Day
- Add all the required information
- Click the submit button
- You will receive a membership confirmation and approval (typically within one to three business days)
- After your membership approval you may log into the Member Portal to make additional updates, submit a calendar event, etc.**

- If you want to be included in the full range of Real Maine's Open Farm Day promotions, from the print to web, and social media, you must be registerd by May 1, 2023.
- View the curent list of 2023 host farms
- Real Maine's summer print publication includes Open Farm Day host farms and the business name, town and contact info View recent publications for reference
- You can submit a customized description and event hours to appear on the online event calendar Most farms are open 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but they have the option to customize their schedule.
- Use the "Submit an Event" feature in the member portal Tip: submit any event requests at least 3-4 weeks - if not sooner - before an event date.
