When: Friday, December 16 | 10am - 2pm

Goal: To provide wildlife professionals an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the disease and how it relates to their work, health and safety.
To provide an opportunity to network, ask questions, and help create consistent
messaging to the public regarding rabies.

Target Audience: Maine rehabilitators, animal control officers, animal damage control, wildlife conflict agents, veterinarians, technicians, biologists, wardens
Presentations from Maine Rabies Working Group organizations, networking, tour
of Center for Wildlife's facility and medical clinic.

Dr. David Needle, DVM - Senior Veterinary Pathologist; New Hampshire Veterinary Diagnostics Lab: Basic pathology of rabies, occurrence of rabies and presentation in animals of the northeast.

Haris Sohail, MS, MPH, CPH - Epidemiologist Infectious Disease; Maine CDC: Human health impacts and role of Maine CDC in management; ideal expectations for safety for wildlife workers

Rachael Fiske, DVM - Assistant State Veterinarian; Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry: Introduce Maine Rabies Management Guidelines and discuss rabies vaccinations.

Shevenell Webb - Wildlife Biologist, Furbearer Specialist and Tegwin Taylor - Wildlife Health Biologist; Maine IF&W: Role in rabies management in the state.

CE opportunity for Animal Control Officers. Counts as CE for annual requirement.
