Hear Ye, Hear Ye! - Sounds of Springtime
In just a few more weeks my windows will be raised to let in fresh air and all the sounds of springtime! There is nothing better than waking up to the dawn chorus of birds, or falling asleep to a chorus of frogs, the wind in the trees, and breathing in all the cool fresh air all night long!
Here is a mix and match game to welcome you to the sounds of springtime... and one that is not a natural sound. Listen to each numbered sound, then match to the named list. Answers are provided below.

Watch and listen to beech leaves that have held fast all winter to their twigs rattle in the breeze. Can you identify other sounds in the background? Click on the photo to view and listen at the Nature Note webpage. |

The wood frog is the loudest frog in the chorus. Their "duck chuckle" call is very memorable. Click on the photo to listen.
