The Love of Nature - Well-being
Happy Autumn! It arrived yesterday at 3:20 p.m. EST in the northern hemisphere. The Autumn Equinox is one of two days during the year when daytime and nighttime are almost equal everywhere on earth. It marks a time of preparation. The harvest season is here; a time of food gathering and preparation for the long nights and winter months ahead. It is often a time of reflection as well... the lengthening evenings provide more time for reading, conversations, and music during the dark quiet hours before bedtime.
So, for this Nature Note I am recommending a book that is perfect for dipping into during this season when nature shares her bounty with us. What does nature mean to you?
Nature, Love Medicine is a collection of essays whose writers reflect on their love of and need for nature. It will help you explore your feelings about nature and perhaps open up a new way of experiencing and appreciating all our earthly kin.
