The following trails will be open for the Memorial Day weekend:
AROOSTOOK COUNTY
The Bangor and Aroostook Rail Trail from Washburn to Stockholm to Caribou.
The Aroostook Valley Rail Trail from Presque Isle to Washburn and from Washburn to Caribou.
Bangor and Aroostook from Houlton to Presque Isle.
GREENVILLE/KOKADJO/BINGHAM/JACKMAN AREAS
The rail trail into Greenville and some of the trail systems in Bingham as well as Kokadjo, check locally with clubs for more details. There will be riding available from Parlin Pond up through Jackman to the Canadian Border.
DOWNEAST TRAILS
In addition to the Downeast Sunrise Trail, which is already open, many other club trails as far north as the Stud Mill Road may be open, please check with local clubs before riding.
The opening of other local club trails, throughout the state, vary based on trail conditions. Some trails will open, others will remain closed, check locally before riding. Club contacts can be found on the ATV Maine web site.
THESE TRAILS REMAIN CLOSED:
Bangor and Aroostook North of Stockholm and the trails going towards the Valley and points north remain CLOSED as does the Saint John Heritage Rail Trail.
Trails into the Forks remain CLOSED as do most trails in Eustis, Roxbury, and Carrabassett Valley.
