Supporting Agriculture and Forestry During the COVID-19 Outbreak

The agriculture and forestry sectors play an integral role in Maine’s culture and economy. At the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF), we also know that, as we are all navigating through a challenging time in response to COVID-19, there are questions on the minds of those of you working in these sectors and we want to ensure that we are doing all we can to provide useful and relevant information to support you.

To date, we have talked with many farmers, grocers, foresters, loggers, sawmill operators, and others. Direct feedback about how the COVID-19 outbreak is impacting businesses in these sectors has been instrumental in helping DACF prioritize our response to your needs. As a result, we created a COVID-19 Resources Webpage, which we are continuously updating. It includes resources for small businesses, essential service providers, public-facing entities like farms and farmers’ markets, and animal health and welfare personnel.

In this challenging time, we are here to support you and want to continue to hear from our agriculture, food, and forestry-related businesses to ensure that you have access to needed resources, and to hear about any resource and information gaps you may be experiencing that we can help with.

Please use this link to tell us how COVID-19 is impacting your farm, food, or forestry-related business.

We hope to hear from you and appreciate your important contribution to Maine at this time, and always.
