Sagadahoc County, Maine -- Join the Merrymeeting Trailblazers, Maine Farmland Trust and Kennebec Estuary Land Trust for a farm-to farm bike ride! Three ride options offer a chance to visit a variety of farms in Bowdoinham, Richmond and Topsham. Each ride is designed for a range of abilities and interests. Participation in the ride is free; all three rides begin, and depart from Mailly Waterfront Park in Bowdoinham.

Ride times and descriptions:

10:00 am – 35-mile ride through Bowdoinham, Richmond, and Topsham with short stops at farms on the route. This ride is best for intermediate or advanced riders.

10:15 am – 24-mile ride through Bowdoinham and Richmond with stops to explore farms along the way. This is a good ride for beginner or intermediate riders.

10:30 am – 14-mile ride with stops to explore some of Bowdoinham’s Forever Farms. This ride will be led by MFT staff and is good for beginner & intermediate riders and those who are interested in learning more about farmland protection in one of the richest farming areas in Bowdoinham.

All riders and farm visitors are invited to attend the Town of Bowdoinham's Open Farm Day and Art Trail barbecue from 36 p.m. in Bowdoinham’s Mailly Waterfront Park and features fresh foods from local farms. The barbecue is $10 per plate and $4 for dessert.

This event is held in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of Maine Open Farm Day, an annual summer tradition, growing agricultural awareness, and connecting Maine farmers and the public.
