Project Learning Tree PreK-8th Workshop – China

Date & Time:

Saturday, April 27th from 9am-3pm

Location: 

The China School’s Forest
763 Lakeview Drive, China, ME

Join us at the China School’s Forest for a fun, interactive Project Learning Tree workshop. All participants will receive the Prek-8 Activity Guide with 96+ ready-to-use lessons to bring outdoor education to children. Receive information about supporting resources (including people) and outdoor classroom ideas.

  • Experience some hands-on activities you can use right away.
  • Learn tips and tricks to organizing your own Forest Field Day.
  • Explore the trails and outdoor classrooms and be inspired!
  • Make connections to Girl Scout badge topics, Next Generation Science Standards, ELA and math standards using outdoor education activities that support impactful learning opportunities. See meplt.org for more details.

Cost $50, with several partial scholarships available for those willing to volunteer programming at the China School’s Forest. College Student cost $10.  Fee includes the activity guide, resources, lunch and drink. Come dressed to be outside for most/all day. After this workshop, put your new skills to use by volunteering your time at our May 18 Girl Scout “Becoming a Naturalist” Day (not required as part of this workshop, but all are welcome to help for part or all day).

Call for PLT Event Volunteers May 18th - China

Project Leaning Tree needs volunteers (forestry, wildlife, naturalist, outdoor recreation, education and /or Girl Scout backgrounds) on May 18th, for Becoming A Naturalist which will introduce Brownie, Junior, and Cadette Girl Scouts to PLT as they “Explore the World of S T Shrew” in the China School Forest from 10 am-3pm.
