PORTLAND, Maine (March 20, 2019) –  Maine’s largest flower show returns to Portland’s Thompson’s Point for its third consecutive year. The 2019 Maine Flower Show, owned and produced by the nonprofit Maine Landscape and Nursery Association (MELNA), will be held from March 28st through March 31th, 2019, with ticket sales now open.

“The 2018 Maine Flower Show attracted over 20,000 guests, and even more are expected for the 2019 show,” said Mark Faunce, Chair for the Maine Flower Show Steering Committee. “This year we have some incredible display gardens in bloom that are guaranteed to help you say goodbye to Winter and get ready for Spring flowers and sunshine.”

The show will feature 13 display gardens based around the theme “A Walk in Maine”, and will include more than 100 booths of plants, hardscape, arbor and garden supplies, as well as four consecutive days of speakers and seminars led by experts in growing and outdoor living. Pollinator-friendly Mystery Seed packets will be given out to attendees while supplies last.

New this year, the Norway Savings Bank Children’s Garden will give kids of all ages the opportunity to get their hands dirty while learning about plants and gardening. Activities will include planting with real soil, learning about food, fruit and pollination, interactive demos and a scavenger hunt.

The cost of general admission is $22, with $17 specialty pricing for seniors, and free admission for children 12 and under. The 2019 show will also honor military veterans on Friday, March 29rd, by offering a special $12 admission charge per person, for both veterans and their spouses. There will be a $2 per ticket discount for people paying cash at the door.

Onsite parking for the 2019 Maine Flower Show will be limited to those with a handicap placard. All other attendees are encouraged to park at The Maine Mall or the Italian Heritage Center. A free shuttle will run every 15 minutes to and from the show.
