Maine Day at New England's Largest Fair is Sept. 15
The "Big E" is September 14 - 30 in West Springfield, MA
 The Maine Building located at the Avenue of States at the "Big E."
West Springfield, MA – “New England’s largest fair” starts this Friday,
September 14 and continues until September 30 in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
The Eastern States Exposition, also known as the “Big E,” promotes agriculture, education, industry, family
entertainment and traditions that are part of New England’s Heritage. The Maine
Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry oversees Maine’s
participation in this annual event.
“The first Saturday at the “Big E is Maine Day, which showcases what makes
Maine unique and special,” said Commissioner Walt Whitcomb. “Throughout the
entire seventeen-day fair, visitors to the Maine building experience a balance
of educational and commercial exhibits that showcase Maine and its unique way
of life. Only items that produced, grown, crafted or manufactured in Maine are
featured in our building.”
About the “Big E”
The “Big E” takes place every September in West Springfield, Massachusetts and is the largest fair in New England, with participation from all six New England states (Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine). Each state has its own exhibition hall. A record number of visitors attended the "Big E" in 2017, breaking the Fair's all-time high attendance figure, with a final tally of 1,525,553. The State of Maine building (built in 1925) showcases Maine foods and products, as well as features information on Maine’s many recreational and vacation opportunities.
