Raceway to Host Live Racing and Viewing of Belmont Stakes This Weekend

BANGOR,
ME – The 150th
running of the Belmont Stakes is this Saturday evening, with local viewing and
wagering scheduled at Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway.
Pre-wagering
on the Belmont Stakes is available starting at 8 a.m., Friday, June 8, at the
Race Book located inside the casino’s main building. A full slate of simulcast
wagering is available starting at 12 noon on Saturday, June 9, at Bangor
Raceway. Live racing begins at 2:30 p.m. and the viewing of the Belmont Stakes
will follow with a post time scheduled for 6:20 p.m.
“The
Belmont Stakes is the final jewel of horse racing’s triple crown,” said Michael
Hopkins, Manager of Racing Operations at Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway.
“We have a great day of live racing planned, and it will wrap up in time to see
if Justify is able to complete the Triple Crown. It should be an exciting day
at Bangor Raceway.”
Bangor
Raceway is celebrating with “lucky loser” drawings equaling $250 in cash
vouchers, a full bar featuring the drink Belmont Jewel, and food from Rocky’s
Trackside Grill.
Following
the special Saturday race day, June and July races will take place on Tuesdays
& Wednesdays at 5 p.m. and Fridays at 7 p.m. Wednesday July 4th
will feature a special Independence Day race card at 6 p.m. followed by
fireworks at 9 p.m.
Simulcast
wagering is still available at the track on days with live racing at the Win,
Place & Show Lounge under the grandstand. All races at Hollywood
Casino Hotel & Raceway are simulcast throughout the country with updated
video graphics. The permanent simulcast wagering Race Book remains at Hollywood
Casino’s main facility at 500 Main Street in downtown Bangor. On days with live
racing at Bangor Raceway, racing fans will have the option of simulcast
wagering either at Hollywood Casino or at the track.
Admission
to the grandstand is free. Race programs will be sold at the track starting the

Race Book Lounge at Hollywood Casino is open daily from noon – midnight, and
Hollywood Casino’s gaming floor is open daily from 8 a.m. – 3 a.m.
