Field Team Program Coordinator (State Position)

The Maine Conservation Corps (MCC) is seeking to fill the full-time position of Volunteer Services Coordinator (Field Team Program Coordinator) in Augusta. This position will focus on statewide natural resource related projects in partnership with other public and nonprofit organizations.

 The position is supported by an ambitious and innovative management team working aggressively to expand conservation and recreation opportunities for all Maine people. Successful candidates will have demonstrated effective personnel management practices in the recruitment, selection, training and retention of volunteers; will have excellent oral and written communication skills; will have demonstrated organizational and time management skills; and will be able to deliver results through teamwork and partnerships. The position includes a high level of responsibility within the MCC program, and depends upon the capability of working independently.

Environmental Stewards

Position Description

The Maine Conservation Corps, an AmeriCorps program, is accepting applications for 900-hour AmeriCorps Environmental Steward positions located throughout Maine for May 2018. MCC is dedicated to accomplishing outdoor recreation and conservation projects for the public, promoting and managing volunteer opportunities, providing conservation education, building self-esteem and leadership, strengthening the future employability of members, while raising the aspirations of members and volunteers.

Environmental Stewards serve a 900-hour term of service.  Environmental Stewards undergo two weeks of training with MCC before being paired with a Host Site for the remainder of their term. 

The Host Sites for 900 hour positions in the 2018 season include: 

  • Sebago Lake State Park
  • Mt. Blue Nature Center and Tumbledown
  • Portland DEP
  • Maine DEP Healthy Beaches Program
  • City of South Portland
  • Maine Natural Areas Program
  • Frenchman Bay Conservancy
  • Bradbury Mountain State Park
  • Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park
  • The Nature Conservancy

Position Description

Maine Conservation Corps (MCC) is dedicated to accomplishing outdoor recreation and conservation projects for the public, promoting and managing volunteer opportunities, providing conservation education, building self-esteem and leadership, strengthening the future employability of members, while raising the aspirations of members and volunteers.

Field Team Members will serve on a team to accomplish conservation projects throughout Maine. Members will also participate in training, adhere to all MCC policies, and live cooperatively with other team members during their term of service.
