Dear Veterans, Ambassadors, Community Partners, and Friends,
One of the greatest strengths of the Women Veterans Inclusion Program is the power of listening. Every conversation, every shared experience, and every connection helps us better understand the unique needs of Maryland's veterans and strengthens our commitment to ensuring they receive the recognition, resources, and support they deserve.
This September, we are excited to launch the Women Veterans and Inclusion Program Listening Tour, a statewide initiative designed to meet veterans where they live, work, and serve. These sessions are more than meetings—they are opportunities to hear directly from veterans about their experiences, celebrate their successes, identify barriers, and gather ideas that will help shape the future of programs and services across Maryland. Whether you have served for two years or twenty, your voice matters, and we want to hear it.
As we prepare for the Listening Tour, I want to recognize our outstanding WVIP Ambassadors. Since joining the program, our ambassadors have embraced their role as trusted community leaders, extending the reach of WVIP into every corner of the state. Through outreach events, resource sharing, community engagement, and meaningful conversations, they are helping women and underserved veterans discover the benefits they've earned while fostering a stronger sense of connection and belonging. Their passion, leadership, and commitment to service exemplify what it means to continue serving beyond the uniform.
The Listening Tour is the next step in building a stronger statewide network—one that is informed by the voices of veterans and supported by dedicated ambassadors and community partners working together. We encourage you to attend a session, share your story, and help us identify new opportunities to better serve Maryland's veterans. Please look forward to receiving the September - November calendar of upcoming sessions at a location near you.

Celebrate Armed Forces Day | Proud Blue Star Museum
The Reginald F. Lewis Museum is proud to participate in Blue Star Museums, a nationwide initiative offering free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families from Armed Forces Day (May 16, 2026) through Labor Day (September 7, 2026).
As a participating Blue Star Museum, The Lewis Museum joins institutions across the country in honoring and welcoming those who serve our nation.
We are grateful for the sacrifices made by military families and are excited to provide opportunities to experience exhibitions, programs, and stories that celebrate African American history, culture, and creativity.
