Message from Secretary Rothstein

Ed Rothstein

As summer unfolds, I encourage you and your family to get outside and experience all that Maryland has to offer. From scenic state parks and beaches to hiking trails, waterways, and historic communities, there's no shortage of places to relax, reconnect, and create lasting memories.

Whether you're a lifelong Marylander or one of the many military families who recently made our state your new home, now is the perfect time to explore. Through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources' Military One-Stop Shop Initiative, veterans from every state receive free day-use admission to Maryland State Parks.

In addition, visit DVMF's Community Events webpage, where you'll find weekly updates on events, training opportunities, and resources for veterans, service members, and military families. From outdoor adventures and career workshops to family-friendly activities and community programs, there's something for everyone.

At the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families, we're committed to connecting you with the benefits, resources, and opportunities you've earned. I hope you enjoy a safe, fun, and memorable summer exploring everything Maryland has to offer.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice. We are honored to serve you.

Life is good!

Sincerely,
Ed Rothstein
