February is Black History Month
...and as we continue to explore Talbot County’s rich history through Talbot250, we are honored to highlight the incredible contributions of Black individuals and communities that have shaped our county.
From the legacy of Frederick Douglass to the remarkable work of Thelma Alford, the historic Black churches that have long been pillars of faith and activism, and the stories of leaders like Nace Hopkins, Talbot County’s Black history is full of resilience, leadership, and cultural richness.
Throughout the month, we've been sharing local stories, historical landmarks, and influential figures that have left a lasting impact. Join us in celebrating, learning, and honoring Black history in Talbot County.
Who inspires you from Talbot County’s Black history?
Warm regards,
Sarah Kilmon Communications Coordinator / Talbot250 Administrator Talbot County Government
