Eastbound I-70 Bridge over MD 27 (Ridge Rd) - 80% complete
- Crews are scheduled to pour new concrete for the bridge's side wall on Friday, May 1. They will remove the forms and complete a finishing process to smooth out the side wall's new concrete next week.
- The concrete barriers are scheduled for removal during an overnight operation in late May. After removal, the ramp from southbound MD 27 onto eastbound I-70 will reopen.
- Two beams were damaged by a truck strike in fall 2025. Repairs to the bridge began in late February and are expected to be completed this spring.
- There will be single-lane closures on northbound MD 27 during the work hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
MD 27 (Manchester Road) from West of MD 140 to Hahn Road - 50% complete
- Crews are finishing the timber portions of structure 1. The steel sections are currently being fabricated and installation is planned in June. Grading work is also scheduled in this area next month.
- Structures 2 and 3 are 95% complete. Remaining work includes grading and paving to connect the new shared-use path.
- This project is constructing a new bicycle/pedestrian path and will connect existing sections of the Westminster Community Trail. Completion is expected this fall.
MD 140 (Baltimore Blvd) between MD 27 (Manchester Rd) and MD 91 (Emory Rd)
- This project will repair cracks and depressions on the driving surface starting on Sunday, May 3. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Completion is expected by July.
- There will be single-lane and shoulder closures on MD 140 during the work hours.
Looking Ahead
MD 26 (Liberty Rd) Bridges over the Liberty Reservoir
- The two bridges were originally built in 1954 and had deck replacements in 1982. This project will replace both bridge decks. The project team is currently reviewing maintenance of the traffic plans during construction.
- A public meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, June 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Liberty High School. A newsletter will be mailed to area residents and property owners in late May.
SHA Offices and Shops will be closed on Monday, May 25.
