In MPT's literacy interactive, students explore the story of The Black Cat to become more effective readers and learn how to "see" a story in their mind. Halloween dates back thousands of years to a time when people wore masks and costumes to fend off roaming ghosts. In this Halloween collection for PreK-12 audiences, you can do everything from making slime and using math to share candy, to studying zombie brains and exploring the concept of fear.

Season Finale: The Great American Read: October 23, 2018

The final countdown to revealing America’s most treasured novel from a list of 100 is winding down while the excitement is gearing up! During the season finale of The Great American Read, viewers will learn which novel won the coveted first place spot! 

It’s also a great time to extend learning at home or in the classroom. Many novels that made the list have become classics in schools. Instill a love of reading using engaging activities aligned to books from The Great American Read.

Maryland STEM Festival: October 26-November 11, 2018

Celebrate STEM everywhere in Maryland with over 500 events happening across the state. You and your family can explore everything from STEM robotics, drones and maker spaces to rainforest challenges and kinetic sculptures.
