Back-to-School Tips: Parents & Families
Our early education dynamic duo at MPT, Krista and Karla, have shared some helpful suggestions for a successful back-to-school start.
1) Ensure that students know their telephone number, address, emergency names and contact numbers for trusted adults.
2) Discuss transportation plans to and from school. Have 'what-if' conversations around riding the bus. For example; what if you get on the wrong bus? What if the bus is late?
3) Take a tour of the school and meet the teacher. Ease into the transition by becoming familiar with the school and classroom and getting to know more about the teacher.
4) Set a routine. The start of the school year can be overwhelming for children and parents. Establish an evening routine such as picking out clothes and packing lunches that will make the mornings a little less hectic.
