An important part of teaching is helping students identify their interests and skills as they progress along the pathway to colleges and careers. Use the following activities to help students hone in on the future.

Career and Technology Education Month: March

The Port
The Port of Baltimore is a thriving transportation system that concentrates on the movement of goods and people. Use MPT's interactive exploration the "Port" to help students gain insight into careers and technologies at Maryland’s bustling hub. Activities and lessons are correlated to Maryland Career Clusters.

Energy Consumption and Conservation
The impact that human activity has on the environment is the focus of MPT’s interactive STEM module. Students explore topics including the effects of carbon footprints and climate change, and apply the engineering design process to complete tasks. Videos featuring scientists and engineers working on the job help students make the connection between STEM learning and quality careers.

Maryland College and Career Ready Resources
Prepare students for colleges and careers and help them thrive in a 21st century economy. Visit MSDE's site to access tool kits, standards, a Parents’ Guide to Student Success, and other relevant resources.
