Message from Council Member Sydney Harrison...
As we close out the month of May, I'm filled with gratitude for the energy and dedication I've seen across District 9. This month brought with it so many opportunities to come together, from community events to local programs, and it has been encouraging to see so many of you show up and get involved. May truly lived up to its promise of growth, both in our neighborhoods and in the work we continue to do together.
As we head into June, I remain inspired by your commitment to making District 9 a place where everyone feels valued and supported. The progress we make is a reflection of the pride and passion you pour into this community every day. Thank you for being the heart of District 9. The best is still ahead, and I look forward to continuing this journey alongside each of you.

Memorial Day Holiday
Waste Schedule
In observance of Memorial Day, Prince George’s County reminds residents that curbside trash, recycling, bulky, and organics collections will shift by one day during the holiday week. Because collection crews will not operate on Memorial Day, there will be no organics collection on Monday, and all Monday organics will instead be collected on Tuesday. Households with regular pickup later in the week should also expect their service to occur one day later than usual. Residents are encouraged to place all materials curbside on their adjusted collection day to ensure timely service and to help collection crews work efficiently throughout the holiday schedule. For additional guidance on waste services or holiday adjustments, you can explore county waste updates.
