Message from Council Member Sydney Harrison...
As we move through the month of April, I want to acknowledge what this season represents for our District 9 community. April is a time of renewal and forward momentum, a moment to reflect, reset, and continue building on the work we are doing together.
This month includes several nationally recognized days that highlight values important to our community, including World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, World Health Day on April 7, Earth Day on April 22, and Arbor Day on April 26. Each of these observances encourages us to prioritize inclusion, global health, and environmental stewardship.
April is also home to meaningful month‑long recognitions such as Arab American Heritage Month, Autism Acceptance Month, Alcohol Awareness Month, Stress Awareness Month, and National Child Abuse Prevention Month. These observances remind us to support the well‑being, safety, and diverse experiences of families across Prince George’s County.
I remain committed to staying accessible, listening to your concerns, and working alongside you to strengthen our neighborhoods. Thank you to every resident who engages with our office. Your involvement guides our priorities and fuels our progress.
Thank you for the pride you show in District 9 and for being active partners in building a stronger, more connected community.
