Tuesday Tip: Mulching Around
the Christmas Tree
Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to upcycle your real Christmas tree. Prince George’s County residents can place their natural (live) Christmas trees curbside by 6 a.m. on any Monday during January 2026 for organics collection. All collected trees will be mulched and later distributed as FREE mulch to residents during the County’s annual Mulch Madness event this spring. Before placing your tree out, please remember to remove all artificial items including lights, ornaments, bags, tinsel, and candle wax. Let’s work together to reduce waste and support a greener, more sustainable community.
