District 5 families, youth, and young adults — exciting opportunities are happening RIGHT NOW + a free grocery store is coming to District 5 in Fairmount Heights! Don’t miss these free and impactful programs designed to support, inspire, and empower our District 5 community! 

 

1. Tomorrow, January 17th @ 12PM: Grind Hard, Dream Big’s Mental Health vs. Social Media @ Glenarden Public Library. Register by emailing: grindharddreambig@gmail.com.

2. Application OPEN for the District 5 Art Competition: If you attend a grade school in District 5 and want your art displayed in the District 5 office for all to see, apply here

3. Exelon Foundation STEM Academies: Calling all 10th and 11th graders interested in STEM. Join the Exelon Foundation for a week-long immersive, residential program that challenges young men and women to take on the big questions of energy, climate change, and sustainability. Check out the flyers below for the programs. Register for the young women STEM camp or for the young men STEM camp before March 15th.

4. District 5 Free Grocery Store coming Spring 2026 -- did you hear about our free grocery store coming to serve families. If you're interested in shopping at the store, fill out the shopper application here and if you're interested in volunteering at the store, sign up here.
