Hello Neighbors,
As we start a new year together, I want to take a moment to thank you, the residents of District 8, for your incredible support throughout 2025 during my time as Chair. It has been a true honor to lead alongside a community that shows up, speaks up, and consistently looks out for one another.
Because of you and our partners, our programs and events were impactful, and rooted in the needs of our neighbors. Whether you participated in an initiative, volunteered your time, or checked on a neighbor, you demonstrated what makes District 8 special. You have been good neighbors, good friends, and caring citizens, and I am deeply grateful for the pride you take in our community.
I hope 2026 brings you and your loved ones happiness, good health, and renewed hope. I look forward to seeing many of you at the Council in the months ahead as we continue working together to move District 8 forward. As Martin Luther King Jr. Day nears, let's keep reflecting on the power and joy of service. Dr. King taught us that everyone can be great because everyone can serve, and District 8 embodies this message every day. I encourage you to find ways, big or small, to lift each other up and strengthen our community.
Thank you again for your trust, your partnership, and your commitment to District 8. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together.
With gratitude, best wishes, and a hearty HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Council Member Edward Burroughs III, District 8
