DATA CENTER UPDATE
After much advocacy, on September 16th, the council adopted CR-098-2025, a resolution I sponsored to implement a temporary pause for any building or grading permits for data centers. The resolution temporarily limits the Planning Department from processing, reviewing or approving applications for preliminary plan of subdivision if the proposal includes a data center use.
Why this is important:
Councilwoman Adams-Stafford closely monitored conversations about plans to build a data Center at the former Landover Mall property and joined members of the community and colleagues on the Council at the Qualified Data Center Taskforce’s meeting to voice our concerns.
CLICK HERE to watch the video of the councilwoman's remarks.
How to stay involved:
The Prince George’s County Qualified Data Center Taskforce has two more meetings this year before they submit their findings to the County Council in November. You can watch their meetings via livestream and learn more about attending their meetings in-person by clicking here.

Prince George's County Council Members Returns from South Korea!
As part of the Prince George's Conty Economic Development Corporation Korea Trade Mission Delegation, Councilwoman Shayla Adams-Stafford joined a group of council colleagues on this trip to secure foreign direct investment opportunities and to learn about innovation in security and transportation. Our county's partnership with Cheonan City dates back to 2017 and this trip allowed the Councilwoman the privilege of fostering and strengthening the bond with our sister city, Cheonan City.
