Hello Neighbors,

As we approach the crisp and colorful days of fall, I hope you are taking a moment to enjoy the changing season. The Council is officially in its fall session, and we are hard at work ensuring that the policies and priorities we advance reflect the needs of our residents.

I have enjoyed seeing so many of you this summer at community meetings and walks, District 8-sponsored back-to-school events, and at the Strategic Housing Town Hall I hosted to educate the community on foreclosures and to provide resources. Your energy and commitment to our community inspires me every day. Check out upcoming events below, as there are many opportunities to stay engaged and connected this season.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our community leaders for their incredible partnership in guiding the Strike Force Elevate Team. Their work addressing neighborhood concerns and beautifying our county is already making a visible difference. 

As the leaves turn and the air grows cooler, I encourage you to take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy a walk through your neighborhood. Together, we are building a stronger, cleaner, and more vibrant District 8.

Residents of District 8 who live within a six-mile radius surrounding the MGM Casino can attend Prince George's Community College TUITION FREE! To date, $2 million has been allocated to the Local Impact Grant/Scholarship Funding at Prince George's Community College just for you. I need your help to spread the word to our District 8 neighbors!
