When was the last time you thought about or made a plan to improve your mental health? Some of us minimize focusing on our mental health to getting a therapist (which is great, if you have one), but did you know that there are a number of ways to improve your mental health without a therapist. Psychology Today notes 10 ways in this article. A few ways are: Find A Supportive Community, Read Books, Spend Time in Nature (the Parks and Planning calendar below can help you with that) and Work with your Hands. Before September ends, incorporate some of these into your routine. You'll be better for it!
In recognition of National Suicide Prevention Month, we are sharing resources from the Prince George's County branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. There are a number of support groups to check out!
