As we close out the month of July, we want to take a moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished together. This month was filled with opportunities to serve, uplift, and connect with our community. From impactful community events and youth programs to engaging conversations with residents and partners, July reminded us of the power of unity and collaboration.
We are grateful to every volunteer, organization, and community member who showed up and gave their time, talents, and energy to make a difference. Your dedication continues to move our vision for a stronger Prince George’s County forward.
As we turn the page and step into August, we do so with renewed commitment and excitement for the work ahead. Thank you for walking alongside us and being part of this journey. Together, we will continue to make a lasting impact.
Warm regards, Council Member Sydney Harrison Prince George’s County – District 9

Residential Street Sweeping Program
The Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation has announced that Residential Street Sweeping for Zones 11–15 will begin on June 23. This vital program helps maintain clean and healthy communities by removing debris and pollutants from our roads, which improves air quality and prevents pollution from entering local waterways. Residents are reminded to remove all vehicles and obstacles from the street on their scheduled sweeping day, as areas with blocked curbs cannot be serviced. If trash or recycling pickup falls on the same day, please place bins on the curb away from the street. Street sweeping will occur between 9 AM and 3 PM. For schedule details, visit mypgc.us/sweep, and direct any questions or concerns to streetsweeping@co.pg.md.us.
