Hello Neighbors,
March is a time of celebration, reflection, and community action. As we recognize Women’s History Month, we honor the incredible contributions of women in Prince George’s County and beyond who have shaped history and continue to lead the way. Saint Patrick’s Day reminds us of the rich cultural diversity that makes our county strong, and for our sports fans, March Madness is here—good luck with your brackets! I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who participated in the recent special election—your engagement is vital to our democracy. I look forward to working with County Executive-Elect Aisha Braveboy and Council Member-Elect Shayla Adams Stafford as they step into these important roles. Please remember that the Special General Election is on June 3, 2025, and I encourage you to stay informed and engaged.
As we enter fiscal year 2026 budget season, I want to ensure that your voices are heard. You can read more about the budget by clicking the button below. Please do not hesitate to email me your ideas at councildistrict8@co.pg.md.us. As I continue to prioritize initiatives that directly benefit our community, you’ll soon receive updates in your mailbox. Additionally, we are actively working on critical issues, including legislation to improve road safety, an in-depth look at data centers and what they mean for our county’s future, and a resolution addressing rising utility costs. I remain committed to advocating for solutions that enhance our quality of life, and I appreciate your continued support and engagement.
Sincerely,
 Vice Chair Edward Burroughs III
