“After two snowstorms and ongoing freezing temperatures, our county continues to struggle to effectively clear all of our roads. Many neighborhood streets remain unplowed, causing frustration and disruptions for many of our residents and business owners. I have received numerous calls from citizens stuck in their homes and have personally mobilized county crews and my own campaign volunteers to dig them out.

To our residents and business owners, your concerns are valid, and you deserve timely and effective snow removal, as well as prompt responses to your requests for help.

As someone who began his career as a county employee performing snow removal, I know firsthand the dedication and tireless effort from our crews. Despite their hard work, factors such as equipment and severe weather conditions — including unusually low temperatures that reduced the effectiveness of traditional de-icing methods — have contributed to these difficulties.

I appreciate the actions being taken by the county to redouble their efforts, including the purchase of a new de-icing compound designed for colder temperatures.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this frustrating period. Together, we will make Prince George’s County stronger and more resilient.”
