Hello Neighbors,
In celebration of Earth Day coming up, I am thinking about the ways we can steward a healthy planet and beautiful community. I am excited to see so many community events taking place this weekend to clean up our neighborhoods, reduce waste, and responsibly dispose of hazardous materials. We can all do our part to keep our communities clean and neighborhoods beautiful! I hope you enjoy the beautiful spring weather, and get a moment to appreciate nature in the coming days.

Community Partnership Highlight: Neighborhood Design Center
We are excited to share the work of one of our Community Partners the Neighborhood Design Center! With their Right Tree, Right Place Program we have been able to plant over 250 new trees throughout District 8! We have partnered with Citizens Associations and Home Owners Associations in Southlawn, Fort Washington, and other neighborhoods to identify areas for new trees and get them planted. Thank you to Jason Sprouls, the Community Forestry Program Manager at the Neighborhood Design Center, for his leadership to bring this partnership to life and our community leaders who have taken advantage of bringing the program to their neighborhoods!
Legislative Updates
Last week, the County Council passed my bill CB-010-2023 An Act Concerning Prince George’s County Open Data! The legislation requires the County to make certain data sets available publicly on the internet. This important piece of legislation will increase transparency and accountability by making government data and information more accessible to the public. Click HERE to read the new legislation.
