Monkeypox Virtual Townhall Discussion

On Wednesday, August 10, at 6:30 p.m., join the Prince George’s County Health Department for the Monkeypox Virtual Townhall Discussion. The townhall will feature a panel of health experts who will provide important information on Monkeypox prevention, testing, vaccination, and more. Clinton Baptist Church Blood Drive

On Thursday, August 11, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Clinton Baptist Church, 8701 Woodyard Rd Clinton, Md., in partnership with the American Red Cross will host a free Blood Drive. Our community, hospitals, and blood banks are short of blood. Please come out and support, to help "SAVE LIVES!" Pre-registration is encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome. Free Community Day

On Saturday, August 13, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Our Sons Rise and Still Like That Barber Shop is hosting a free Community Day. The event will feature free live entertainment, food, beverages, school supplies, employment services, and community-based resources. The event will be held at 3820 St. Barnabas Rd. Suitland, Md.

Clinton Baptist Church’s Back to School Festival

On Saturday, August 20, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Clinton Baptist Church, 8701 Woodyard Rd. Clinton, Md., will host its Back-to-School Festival. There will be free book bags, school supplies, food, moon bounce, music, games, and vaccines!

Before the Badge Community Health and Wellness Fair

On Saturday, August 27, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Prince George’s County Police Academy Class/Session 147, in partnership with 4Ever Unified, will host Before the Badge Community Health and Wellness Fair, at Stephen Decatur Middle School, 8200 Pinewood Dr. Clinton, Md. The event will feature free cross fit sessions, Zumba class, kids’ activities, DJ, food, beverages, and giveaways.

Driver Education Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the Linnel Driving School & Coalition for Public Safety Training in Schools’ free driver’s education program. The application process closes on September 16, 2022. For additional details, please visit CPSTS Driving School Application.

County Police Department Community Engagement Teams

The Prince George’s County Police Department works to engage the community, through its Community Engagement Teams housed within each police district station. Police Reform Work Group

In 2020, the County established the Police Reform Work Group, with a goal of developing recommendations that would help guide the County Police Department’s reform efforts. Based on these recommendations, the Police Department began making important changes that will help to further strengthen the collaborative relationship between our police officers and our residents. The below graphic outlines the Police Reform Work Group’s recommendations.
