Hello Neighbors,
Thank you to all who voted, volunteered, and counted ballots this election season! Our democracy works best when all are engaged and participate in their civic duty. I am honored to serve as your District 8 County Council Member. We've got a lot of work to do, and this is just the beginning! I look forward to your partnership and continued engagement in the years ahead!
In service,
Edward Burroughs III

District 8 in the Community
This past Tuesday, the District 8 team and I participated in National Night Out events around the community! Thank you to all the community leaders, PGPD, and other coordinators who worked to successfully host so many great events!
Members of our team are pictured above from left to right: Colin Byrd our Constituent Services Specialist, Brandon Eleby our Summer Office Intern, Council Member Edward Burroughs III, Pleshette Monroe our Office Manager, Diane D'Costa our Director of Advocacy and Community Partnerships, and Brandon Cooper our Chief of Staff and Legislative Aide.
We enjoyed visiting the Church of Living Waters, Forest Heights Elementary School, Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Center, Potomac Knolls Community Center, and the Prince George's County Police Division VII Building. It was a great night of good food, good music, and great company across the district!
Standing with ATU Workers
This past week I've been supporting the Amalgamated Transit Union Workers who are currently fighting to ensure they have a fair contract. ATU workers provide MetroAccess and necessary transportation services to some of our most vulnerable neighbors. I hope to see their efforts realized so the people working hard to serve our community are given the care and compensation they deserve.
Supporting United Food & Commercial Workers
Our Food and Commercial Workers are fighting for a fair contract. I am happy to support them in their negotiations and ensure all the people working to serve the residents of District 8 have a living wage. We are labor strong!
