Greetings District 8 Neighbors,
I am truly honored to announce that County Council Chairman Calvin Hawkins has appointed me to serve as the new Chair of the Governmental Operations and Fiscal Policy Committee (GOFP). This committee, one of six Council Standing Committees, has the responsibility of reviewing the County Council's fiscal policies and the performance of several critical county government agencies, including the Office of Central Services, the Board of Elections, the Office of Ethics, the Revenue (Parking) Authority, the Office of Information Technology, and amendments to the County Executive’s proposed FY 2023 $5.0 billion operating budget.
This committee also has jurisdiction over a wide array of issues impacting the working people in Prince George’s County and I look forward to continuing my work as a strong advocate on their behalf. The GOFP Committee typically meets every other Thursday and you can view details regarding the upcoming meetings on the County Council Meeting Calendar here.
In service,
Council Member Edward Burroughs III
Prince George's County Council, District 8

There are a myriad of opportunities to volunteer in meaningful ways throughout our community.
Not only will our office host meetings and events where volunteers will be essential but we will be partnering with the amazing non-profit organizations that provide tremendous support services to District 8 residents and throughout Prince George's County.
