Greetings District 8 Residents,
Today marks one year since the January 6 U.S. Capitol insurrection. Following the attack on our Capitol, a Council Resolution was presented to urge and support our County Executive in efforts to ensure appropriate actions were taken on the chance public servants of our County took part in the violence of that day. The Resolution also condemns all efforts to disenfranchise Black, Brown, Latino, Indigenous voters and any other minorities. With the unanimous support of County Council, CR-007-2021 was passed and adopted on January 28, 2021, and is currently in effect.
