Greetings District 8 Neighbors,
I know if you have not received your vaccine, you are concerned and wondering when you will be able to get the vaccine. Supply of vaccines continue to be a problem and, therefore, many have not been able to get their first vaccine. This issue provides the links to vaccination centers serving our area. Other topics, being covered in this issue, are the plan for re-opening Prince George's County Public Schools, announcement of an exciting new District 8 business, District 8 events and special recognition for Redskins player, Chase Young.
First thing you must remember is that You must be pre-registered to get the first dose of the vaccine. You can Dial 311 # for the Covid-19 Hotline, if you need assistance.
Prince George's County is still in the 1C group for the vaccines and continuing to accommodate those in the 1A and 1B groups. Adventist Healthcare Fort Washington Medical Center has a vaccine sign-up page which presently allows you to only sign up for alerts, which means there are no appointments available currently. Once appointments are available, people book their appointments quickly and I have been told thousands of appointments get filled up in about 10 minutes. Click this link to learn more. https://bit.ly/3u7OxBJ
The other link that provides all the sites in Maryland and allows you to select District 8 and the surrounding areas, offering the vaccine, know is the Maryland.gov site. Click https://bit.ly/3as3qXD
The system for receiving the second doses of vaccinations is easier. Once you are in the system as a recipient of the first vaccination, you are guaranteed a spot for the second vaccine. You will receive an alert to come for your next appointment at the specified location site to receive the second vaccine. All locations have data with the information on those coming for their second vaccination appointments.

I know the process is frustrating, but we will get through this together.
