COVID-19 Update

Due to an increase in key COVID-19 metrics, County Executive Alsobrooks recently announced that on Wednesday, December 16, at 5:00 p.m., indoor dining will be closed in Prince George’s County. As of December 1, the County’s COVID-19 positivity rate is 10.1% and the infection rate of 1.10, which places the County at the border of the “high risk” category. Recently the County saw the highest number of new COVID-19 cases, with 2,908 new COVID-19, cases the week of November 29. Additionally, Prince George’s County announced that $550,000 is being allocated, to Employ Prince George’s, for the COVID-19 Rapid Re-Employment Grant program. Businesses that hire Prince George’s County residents before December 15, will qualify for grants up to $15,000 per new employee hired. Grants will supplement 50% to 90% of an employee’s salary during an agreed upon period. For additional details, please go to Rapid Re-Employment Grant.

Food Distribution Update

Tuesday, December 15, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Council Member Harrison, Clinton Baptist Church, Prince George's Department of Family Services, and the Southern Pearls of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., are partnering to provide free Grab and Go meals for seniors. The drive-thru event will be held at Clinton Baptist Church, 8701 Woodyard Road Clinton, Md.  Please pre-register by calling or texting 301-653-6219.

Library Curbside Service Update

Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases locally, Prince George’s County Memorial Library System is temporarily suspending Curbside Service from December 12, 2020 – January 12, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Tele-Town Hall
