Dear District 8 Neighbors,
As we move forward in this Fall season, your voice can impact the well-being of your community and even beyond that. The Census2020 deadline has been moved to Monday, October 5, 2020. The Census is done every 10 years. Each person counted, helps to identify and allocate funds needed for your community, our county. In this issue, you will find voting information to help you get registered, request your ballot to be mailed to you, and note the hard deadlines. If you have completed your Census and received your ballot, don't stop there, reach out to family, friends, neighbors and especially our youth to assist them if they have not completed these important opportunities to use their voices. There are also many who are facing evictions, as a result of the hardships from the pandemic. Tomorrow evening, Wednesday, September 30 - 6:30 pm, we are co-hosting with Community Legal Services (CLS) of Prince George's County, Inc., "EVICTIONS DURING COVID-19" virtual meeting. You don't want to miss this meeting if you are having these challenges to learn what you must do and get answers you need.
