DISTRICT 8 COUNCIL MEMBER MONIQUE ANDERSON-WALKER HOSTS

“MOVING FORWARD” YOUTH SUMMIT – LEADERS FOR ERADICATING INJUSTICES REGIONAL WEBINAR

 

Prince George’s County Council Member Monique Anderson-Walker (D – District 8), in partnership with BlackGirls4BlackLives and Prince George’s County Office of Community Relations, will host “Youth Summit – Leaders for Eradicating Injustices”, on Friday, July 17th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., as part of her ongoing “MOVING FORWARD” webinar series.

 

The “MOVING FORWARD” Youth Summit – Leaders for Eradicating Injustices virtual event will feature youth leaders from Prince Georges, Anne Arundel, Montgomery and Howard Counties, engaging in open and honest dialogue on racial equity, the power of voting, and 2020 Census participation. Guests will also provide creative arts performances through spoken word and song.

 

Council Member Anderson-Walker will be joined by a panel of county and regional youth leaders including NAACP Maryland State Conference Youth and College Division President, Isaac Allen; Prince George’s County Board of Education Student Member, Ninah Jackson; Montgomery County Board of Education Student Member, Nick Asante; Howard County Board of Education Student Member, Zach Koung; Anne Arundel County Board of Education Student Member, Drake Smith; North Carolina A&T State Student, Jeannine Walker; Oxon Hill High School Student, Christian Hayes; and BlackGirls4Black Lives. The panel discussion will be moderated by Marisa Miles of the Resistance Research Coalition.

 

The  “MOVING FORWARD” webinar series provides a platform for residents to engage in open and honest dialogue and discuss coping and transformative strategies on challenging topics.
