Dear District 9 Community,
Prince George’s County Planning Modified Re-Opening
County Executive Alsobrooks announced that the County is on track to begin Stage 1, of its modified reopening plan on June 1st. According to County Executive Alsobrooks, since May 10, the County has experienced a 25% decrease in confirmed COVID-19 cases. The exact details of the plan will be announced in the coming days. Coronavirus Call Center and Testing
The Prince George’s County Health Department’s coronavirus call center and COVID-19 screening and testing site will be closed, Monday, May 25th, for the Memorial Day holiday. If you are experiencing symptoms of an illness, or do not feel well, please contact your medical care provider. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911. The hotline will continue normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Cheverly Health Center will reopen for COVID-19 screening and testing, by appointment only at 10:00 a.m., on May 26th. Please call the hotline (301-883-6627), to make an appointment.
Maryland Governor Hogan and CVS Health announced that 17 new COVID-19 test sites, at select CVS Pharmacy drive-thru locations, will open across Maryland. The opening of additional test sites will be announced by the end of May. Self-swab tests will be available to individuals who meet the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s criteria. To schedule an appointment, patients must register in advance at www.CVS.com, beginning Friday, May 22. Patients will be required to stay in their cars and will be directed to the pharmacy drive-thru window, where they will be provided a test kit and given instructions. The results will be available in approximately three days. Testing will not take place inside any of the retail locations.

Appointment Free COVID-19 Test Locations
Appointments are not required for COVID-19 testing at the following drive-thru locations:
- Hyattsville’s Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program, 7401 Jefferson Ave. Hyattsville, MD: Wednesdays and Fridays, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (beginning May 22)
- Glen Burnie’s Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program, 721 E Ordnance Rd. Curtis Bay, MD: Wednesdays and Fridays, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (beginning May 22)

Free Food Assistance Event
Today, Saturday, May 23, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., a free Grab & Go food event will be held at Frederick Douglass High School 8000 Croom Rd. Upper Marlboro, MD. The event will be hosted by PGCPS’s Office of Community Partnership, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Friendship Charities Foundation, The Athletic Republic, Galilee Community Corporation, and St. Paul Church. The event is open to students, families, and members of the community.

Rental Assistance Program
Due to overwhelming response, Prince George’s County’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program is temporarily closed.

Presidential Primary Election
Maryland’s Presidential Primary Election will be conducted generally by mail and will be held on June 2. Ballots were mailed to the homes of registered voters. The deadline to register to vote is May 27. Mail-in ballots must be posted marked by, June 2. Ballots can be returned by mail or dropped off in-person, at the following locations:
