COUNCIL LEADERSHIP RESPONDS TO RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT OF UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND PRESIDENT

DR. WALLACE LOH

Prince George’s County Council Chair Dannielle Glaros (D) – District 3, and Vice-Chair Todd M. Turner (D) – District 4, have expressed disappointment following the announced retirement of University of Maryland president Wallace Loh in June.   Dr. Loh’s visionary leadership has been marked by professionalism, integrity, compassion, and decency, important leadership character traits that have guided the University of Maryland through its recent challenges. Dr. Loh is a talented executive, and he has been an effective corporate partner with Prince George’s County, leading the university through unprecedented community engagement to the great benefit of us all.   Council leadership stands in solidarity with Dr. Loh and hopes that both he and the University of Maryland Board of Regents reconsider the decision for Dr. Loh to retire.
