Council Member Davis leading on cheers and congratulatory wishes at the grand opening of the newly opened Starbucks at Steeplechase 95.
Greetings District 6 Residents, Businesses and Stakeholders!
I hope this latest edition of the District 6 Weekend Reader finds you in good spirits and enjoying the last days of Summer.
Although the Prince George's County Council is in recess, the work of the Council continues in the office and in the community. Summertime is THE time for community gatherings and festivals, where our District 6 communities always show up and show out. From Juneteenth to National Night Out 2018, it affords me the opportunity to connect with many of you regarding issues affecting your communities and ways where County officials and agencies may be of assistance.
As we travel around the District, you see transformation taking place through development focused on maximizing the use of existing infrastructure considering residential, commercial, office, retail, and other uses. We see progress being made in the construction of the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center every day. The retail market continues to grow throughout the district with the arrival of German grocer Lidl in Bowie and the expansion of Ritchie Station Marketplace with the opening of Ulta Beauty in September, 2018.
As the Council returns from recess and the Fall season approaches, we invite you to stay engaged through the Council's official web portal, pgccouncil.us, our District 6 social media channels and the District 6 Council webpage. We also encourage you to connect with your community/civic/HOA leaders for information on what's occurring in your neck of the woods. Need further assistance? The District 6 Team and I are available to address your needs via telephone or email at councildistrict6@co.pg.md.us.
Committed to Service, Committed to You!
