​ LARGO, MD – The Prince George's County Health Department  is pleased to announce the unveiling of the PGC HEALTH ZONE website.  PGC HEALTH ZONE is an engaging, interactive website that shares the health story of Prince George’s County and its Health Enterprise Zone.  

“A broad range of users will find PGC HEALTH ZONE useful, from community health workers and public health professionals to county residents,”  says Pamela B. Creekmur, Health Officer.  “This is the first time that the Health Department has provided such viable and current information through an easily accessible, user-friendly website.  Users will find it easy to navigate and will be able to use the data and information to develop strategies, programs and policies to improve wellness throughout Prince George’s County.”

The website includes over 100 health, demographic, economic, and environmental indicators, and tracks the county’s performance and health status in comparison to national and state goals. Users can explore government and foundation funding opportunities that could help improve the health and wellbeing of their community. The website also features a “Promising Practices” database, which allows community members and professionals to research ranked approaches ranging from good ideas to evidence-based practices that improve community health and quality of life.
