Silver Hill Road Remains Partially Closed Due to a Water Main Break

Eastbound Silver Hill Road closed at Brooks Drive, in Suitland

• At this time, Eastbound Silver Hill Road remains completely shut down with traffic being diverted at Brooks Drive. 
• Traffic control is being handled by the State Highway Administration (SHA).
• Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) crews were able to localize the water main shutdown, minimizing the impact on customers.
• WSSC has crews standing by to repave the affected area of roadway.
• WSSC is striving to have water main repairs and repaving completed in time to reopen all lanes on Silver Hill Road by the Friday morning rush hour.

Council Member Toles' Office is in contact with WSSC, SHA, and public safety officials in an effort to monitor the progress and keep contituents informed.
