Solarize Prince George’s Exceeds Application Goal in First Campaign Cycle

Application Cycle is Now Closed

doe logo

Prince George’s County’s Solarize Prince George’s campaign is off to a strong start, surpassing its initial goal for homeowner participation. The program received 41 applications—exceeding the original target of 30— demonstrating strong resident interest in clean, affordable solar energy.

Through the County’s Solar Energy Grant Program, eligible residents can receive up to $10,000 toward the cost of installing rooftop solar panels, helping lower energy bills, increase home resilience, and support cleaner air across our communities.

Solarize Prince George’s makes it easier for homeowners to go solar by providing:

  • Trusted, vetted installers approved through the Maryland Energy Administration
  • Access to stacked state and local incentives to reduce installation costs
  • Informational workshops and resources to help residents understand the solar process
  • A dedicated Solarize PG webpage with Solar 101 resources and FAQs

Due to the strong response, the current application cycle has now closed while submissions are reviewed.

Residents interested in future opportunities can learn more about solar energy resources in Prince George’s County by visiting: environment.mypgc.us/solar.

Pothole Season is Here!

The Department of Public Works and Transportation is repairing potholes across the County!

Winter weather often leads to an increase in potholes, but DPW&T crews are out working to keep roads safe and smooth. We encourage residents to remember the 3 R’s of our process: Report, Repair, and Restore.

REPORT: See a pothole? Report it to PGC311 by calling 311, using the app, or visiting PGC311.com.

REPAIR: Potholes form when water seeps into cracks in the pavement, freezes and expands during cold temperatures, then thaws, causing the road surface to weaken and break apart under traffic. DPW&T crews respond to pothole service requests to repair damaged roadway surfaces.

RESTORE: After repairs are completed, crews restore roadway conditions to improve safety. Please note that DPW&T repairs potholes on County-maintained roadways.

Together, we can help keep Prince George's County moving safely.
